Having a base in Christchurch we feel we can't have a blog about shipping containers and not mention the shipping container mall in Cashel Street! Have you been there yet? If you are in Christchurch be sure to make a trip to see some shipping containers converted into some great shops. It seems a shame though that the most prominent containers - on top of the buildings - appear to have no other purpose other than adding architectural flair...they look good though.
Did you know that making malls out of shipping containers is not a new idea? - In the Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan huge markets made out of containers have been in existence for years.
